(Larne, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, UK)

The Port of Larne is well linked by road and has excellent options for public transport, with buses, trains and taxis all calling at the ferry terminal.

Travel by Bus and Shuttles

Car Hire and Road Travel

Roads in Northern Ireland are generally uncongested and in excellent condition; Belfast is a short drive away via the A8 and M2, while all other parts of Northern Ireland are within a two-hour drive of the port.

There are several car hire firms represented in the town of Larne and the best way to secure a booking is online before you travel. Although cars are available on demand, you have a better chance of getting the right car for your needs by booking online, as well as getting the best price.

Trains and Rail Travel

There is a train station at the port, Larne Harbour station, and Northern Ireland Railways runs frequent services that are timed to coincide with ferry arrivals and departures. Trains run through Larne town and direct to Belfast Central Station. From Belfast, trains run to destinations throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic.

Car Parking

There are two car parks at the Port of Larne - car parks 1 and 2 - where short-term and long-term parking is available. Designated disabled parking spaces are also available in Car Park 1.

Travel by Taxis

Taxis can be found waiting directly outside the ferry terminal and provide the most convenient, yet expensive, option for getting to Belfast and other nearby destinations.
